bargains and blogs.

So troy and I made it onto the Cobrasnakes website. Here's the photo:

Pity my lipsticks faded a little. Oh well. So stoked!

Yesterday i had a terrible morning, so after work i decided to treat myself to a trip to Savers. I gave myself a $20 budget, which i went over by $14, and couldve bought more... Best Savers/ thrift store run in a long time.
I picked up:

- Purple jeans which i cut into short shorts, and tore and frayed. Will attack with paint splatters soon too.
- Vintage 'vancouver' tee with Wolves and Tee-pees on it
- Cropped Acid wash denim jacket (hello childrens section!)
and the best...
- Brand new doc Marten style combat boots, for $20!!

WEEKEND IN PICTURES

INSANE

I met The Cobrasnake Saturday night.
i cannot even begin to explain it, one of the craziest nights of my life.
I'm really hoping that the photos he took of me, my mate Jamie and our friends end up on his site, although Im not too sure how good we would all look, considering.
Earlier in the day, when getting dressed, i managed to first of all get foundation on my new Friedrich Gray singlet, then whilst trying to fix it, burnt it with an iron. luckily i managed to salvage it with some quick thinking.

Now this week, Thursday to be exact, I will be attending The Sartorialist's book signing at Sass & Bide. i cannot wait. i daydream of him asking to take my photo, haha. Rather lame, i know. I love how last time he was here he apparently refused to be photographed standing up due to his short stature. :) Something i would do.

BEAUTIES. GEEKS.

Last Tuesday was my works Christmas Party, which had a Beauty and the Geek theme. Seeing as it would be far too easy and a somewhat cop-out for me to go as a geek (with my love of bowties, suspenders and well, my need for spectacles...), i decided to release my inner vamp and go as a beauty. Here are some happy snaps from it. The dress i am wearing is an altered Alice in the Eve dress, which got stolen later in the night...

Dear Marc and uncle Karl,

I think I love you...

recent purchases

so i had a pair of Lover shorts, but they didnt actually fit me. i exchanged them for a credit note, and with said credit i bought the two following items last week:

Dani M necklace.
I got a black version of the ceramic triangle shown below in white.

And i am unable to find a photo of it, but a beautiful Friedrich Gray slit back bone coloured singlet as well

im currently torturing myself on Etsy, searching for vintage band tees and combat boots. finding far too many i love. my wonderful boyfriend said he will get me one as a Christmas present, but i cant narrow it down. why must i do this to myself? I did however purchase some little trinkets from Etsy to turn into cute presents for my two best friends, they better like them in all their corny-ness!

Debut.

Hello Cyber world!
This is my 2nd attempt at a blog, the first failing due to a rather tumultuous year and a loss of all creative thought. having recently been re-inspired, i decided it was time for take two.

Before i begin, please note this is not one of those pretentious fashion blogs where i pose awkwardly, Russh magazine style (on purpose of course!) in front of an expensive camera and talk about my self as if i am Gods gift to humankind. My camera is old, your cell phone probably has more mega-pixels, and i am without a tripod to sit it on. i one day wish to be a stylist, so this blog will be used as my forum for documenting my fashion wins (and fails) instead of being about the photography. It is for me to look back on my outfit choices and laugh, cry, and hopefully sometimes feel proud, as well as to discuss inspirations and obsessions.

Now for a little about me.
I am a 25 year old Melbournite, with unhealthy obsessions with Burberry, bows, leopard print and sneaker culture. I have a severe case of style A.D.D- i will go from sneaker chic, to 80's revival, to classic feminine to rocker babe all in the space of a week. I do not in any way consider myself a style queen, and would love to start taking more fashion risks, to become more eclectic.
I'm the type of girl who will never write/ draw in pencil, i prefer to confront my mistakes head on. And hell, a fashion faux pas aint the end of the world, as Frankie said, "RELAX!"

Having got the introduction out the way, i hope you enjoy my take on the world of fashion, follow my mistakes and triumphs, and laugh with my along the way.

-M.
